So you know one thing for certain: you want to make money online. But if you’re new to the online world, you may not be entirely sure of all of the opportunities available to you. We’ll walk you through the most profitable ways for you to make money online so you can start living your life the way you want to.
1. Fill Out Surveys
One of our favorite ways to make money online is to fill out paid surveys. Paid surveys are a great way to make money because you can easily whip off a couple of them within an hour and make anywhere from $5 to $20 an hour doing them. Check out this step by step guide: Earn Extra Money taking Surveys from Home.
The nice thing about surveys is that absolutely anyone can do them, too. You don’t need to have any special skills or talents. The only thing that’s required is for you to be honest and to be opinionated so that you can let companies know exactly what you think and how you feel about their products. If you want to get started, check out some blogs and forums for their suggestions, and hit up survey sites Opinion Outpost and Cash Crate. They’re reputable survey companies and are a great way to get started trying to make money online taking surveys.
2. Start a Blog
You want to start to try and make money online, right? Why not document your experiences in a blog? People love reading blogs as they are full of personal experiences and insight, but there’s a lot of money that can be had with blogs, too. Once you get your blog going, you’ll get more and more traffic to your site. The more traffic that comes through to your site, the more valuable your site becomes. For one, you can start shopping around and selling advertising space to your blog, perhaps even to the survey companies who you’re working for. You can try using pay per click advertising campaigns, and you can consider doing some affiliate marketing, too.
If you are interested in starting up a blog, one of the best blogging sites we can recommend is WordPress. WordPress has a bunch of cool widgets and free themes that you can use to really tailor your blog so it’s how you want it to be. Check out this step by step guide: how to start a blog and make money blogging.
3. Do Microjobs
Microjobs are actually quite a nice compliment to anyone who starts off filling out surveys online. If you have never heard of microjobs, these can generally be defined as small tasks that people need to have completed. So they then go to a “microjob” site, like oDesk or Elance, post the job, and people can then “bid” or send in proposals and resumes as a way to apply for the job. If their bid or proposal is selected, then they can make money online.
There’s something for everyone on microjob sites, from web design to writing to administrative support… the list goes on and on. Microjobs are a great way to not only have a supplementary income, but they can also easily turn into a full time career. Dedicated microjobbers are often able to ditch their full time office jobs completely because they make money online instead.
4. Sell Stuff Online
Selling things online is probably one of the first ways that people think when they hear the words “make money online”. Sites like eBay, Craigslist and Kijiji have made it easier than ever to sell virtually anything over the web. As the saying goes, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”, and this could not be more true when it comes to selling things online.
But here’s the thing: you only have a limited amount of stuff in your house that you can sell. The best way to turn this into a profitable venture is to think about what you would like to sell. Think of something you’re passionate about. Once you come up with something, then it’s time to start hunting down deals! You can hunt down deals by:
- Waiting for big sales at stores and then buying items for a fraction of the full price. You can then flip the product and sell it for close to its full price
- Buy things wholesale! There are a ton of wholesale sites on the web that sell a number of different things. Or, alternatively, you can purchase things in “lots” or as wholesale items on sites like eBay and Craigslist
- Visit second hand stores. You’ll be surprised by the great stuff that they have there, ranging from antiques to name brand goods
